About Me

My Story

I am a woman with a disability, Jesus wonderer, mentor friend and listener.  Along with my Spiritual Direction training, I have earned a diploma of biblical studies and a bachelor of theology with emphasis on Christian counselling.  I have several years experience of ministry in church and camp leadership. I became a Youth Worker with Youth For Christ  and also often find myself drawn towards anyone who holds stories of much suffering.  I am passionate about prayer and watching people grow in their relationship to God and others.

On any given day you may find me singing and sipping coffee or tea at a table in Nova Scotia. It is there that  I will be enjoying some good food and most likely dreaming about the ocean, my favorite sappy love story or just learning to laugh at all the things I am too serious about sometimes.

The Process

As you commit to a hour of Spiritual Direction you can expect some prayer, silence and some questions. As your director my 'job' is to stay attentive to where I sense you are in your life and your journey with God. There is nothing you do to prepare.  Just come ready to pray and pay attention to things in your own life that God is already working in.

For me, I was already years into full-time ministry when I realized that I was on the edge of burn out and faith expansion. I was needing a place where I could get out all my questions, griefs and fears with a safe trusted person.  I started meeting with a woman in a mentorship, spiritual direction way once/month and realized the freedom it held for me as someone pastored and cared for my soul deeply. I too realized that maybe God was gifting me to do this ministry as well and took a Spiritual Directors Course with Sustainable Faith in Winnipeg. During that time I also was invited to learn to offer pastoral leadership to a contemplative church plant called West End Abbey. As of late my health has had me move back to Nova Scotia, but Spiritual Direction is still a ministry I feel invited to offer others.
